The CSCAP EU Committee held its third annual meeting in Brussels on Friday 20 November. The meeting was also included as part of the expert outreach and consultation process for the preparation of the EU Global Strategy on foreign and security policy.
The EUISS was pleased to welcome Afghan National Security Adviser Hanif Atmar to its Brussels Liaison Office to discuss the current security challenges facing the war-torn country.
The 2015 Annual Conference of the EUISS was held, exceptionally, in Brussels on 8/9 October and served as the occasion to inaugurate the public consultation and outreach phase that will accompany the preparations of a Global Strategy for the EU in the coming months.
On 24 September, EUISS launched a Task Force on Russia's futures. The Task Force aims to explore the horizon 2020–2025 by creating a core group of experts on Russian politics who will then generate a report about key trends by the end of next year.
The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) organised this conference on the Sahel as part of the activities held under the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
On 2-3 July 2015, the EUISS and the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), with the support of the European Parliament and the Luxembourg Presidency of the EU, organised an expert seminar on learning and training.
In association with DG DEVCO of the European Commission and the European External Action Service, the EUISS held a conference on Maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea on 30 June 2015 in Brussels.
Jointly organised with the Korean National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), and supported by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EEAS, the second conference on the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative (NAPCI) and the European experience took place on 18-19 June in Brussels.
