On 12 May 2021 Daniel Fiott, Security and Defence Editor at the EUISS, spoke at an event organised by the Spanish Ministry of Defence entitled “Geospatial Intelligence to Support the European Union Decision-Making Process”.

Co-organised by the EU Institute for Security Studies and the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this virtual consultation explored the link between the stability of the cyber domain and international security, and consider how the EU and African partners can cooperate on a strategic security agenda fit for the digital age.

On 29 April 2021, the EUISS and the Africa Working Party of the Council of the EU (COAFR) held their eleventh meeting to discuss the future of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

On 15 March 2021, the EUISS and Le Grand Continent jointly organised the first in a series of four launch events of the Chaillot Paper “African Futures 2030: free trade, peace and prosperity”.
